Dustin is the Gym Leader of Goldune City's Gym, known officially as the Goldune Gym. He specializes in Ground-type Pokémon. He gives the Grain Badge to trainers who defeat him. He is called the master of quicksand.
Dustin appears at first in Goldune Cave, where he have found a Teeth Fossil and a Plate Fossil.
After this, he appears as the leader of Goldune City's Gym. This gym is the forth to be challenged by the player. Trainers who defeat Dustin will receive the Grain Badge, along with TM23 Quicksand.
''Sorry! It wasn't at the Gym, but I couldn't resist the urge to uncover these Fossils! I tripped over a piece that was poking out of the ground and just had to dig them up! Awesome, right!?''
''Oh. Sorry. I guess we can go back, now... but the Fossils I don't want to just leave them! Do you know that you can get Pokémon from these Fossils? There's a building in Goldune City. A scientist named Burke can revive them using a special machine. You guys should take a Fossil each and get them revived!''
