Forestone is a dual-type Grass/Rock Pokémon.

It evolves from Herovor starting at level 16, and evolves into Mountree starting at level 36.

Biology[]

Physiology[]

Forestone resembles a heavily armored tortoise, and is very similar to its previous Evolution, Herovor, in color. Forestone has a brown soil-like shell much like Herovor, but have small trees instead of sprouting leaves on its back. Separating the top of the shell from the bottom is a light dirt brown line, which also goes around its neck. Its belly is a stone grey color, much like the mounds that have formed on the top of its shell. It is quadrupedal, with green legs, each possessing two claws. On the top of its head is an armored helmet-like cranium, with similar color and decoration to its shell. Its eyes are blue in color.

Special Abilities[]

Forestone has a hard shell that allows it to protect itself from powerful attacks. It has the ability to summon leaves and rocks to attack opponents. It has a very hard, powerful head that is used to perform powerful smashing moves. They only attack intruders of their habitat, and will use and spread the seeds on its leaves to help grow plants in the forest.

Behavior[]

Forestone is known to be a "protector" Pokémon, guarding the forest and Pokémon that live inside it from trouble. It is more aggressive than Herovor, but only to intruders. It also helps grow forest plants by using and spreading the seeds on its leaves.

Habitat[]

It mostly lives in tall grass in forests where other Forestone, Herovor and a leader Mountree will live. Forestone cannot be found in the Wild, however, so you must Evolve an Herovor in order to obtain one.

Shiny Coloration Differences[]

For Shiny Forestone, the green turns a yellowish-green, the irises turn green, the brighter brown turns a yellowish-brown, and the light dirt brown color turns a pale yellow.

Trivia[]

  • Forestone was originally named Herbosaur, similar to the word Ivysaur, and closer to its previous Evolution, Herovor.
  • Forestone and Mountree are the first Grass/Rock-types since Lileep and Cradily.
  • Forestone went through a lot of design changes; one of them even looks like a pure Grass-type.
  • Prior to Version 1.0.1, Forestone uses Ivysaur's cry.
  • Forestone's design looks similar to Grotle.

Origin[]

Forestone, much like the rest of its Evolutionary line, are based on turtles with soil-like shells, and different foliage sprouting from the top of them.

Name Origin[]

Forestone is a blend of the words Forest and stone. Meanwhile, its old name, Herbosaur, is a combination of the words Herbivore, hero and dinosaur.
